HOW TO HELP
Are you interested in supporting the current refugee crisis but unsure of how you can help? Here are some possible ways that you can help:
Further details on the official Government scheme can be found here:
If you are interested in offering this but have any reservations about it, this website exists to create a support network and we would love to hear from you. Please see our "Our aim" page.
You may also want to consider going through a different organisation. Rooms for Refugees and Refugees at Home are two websites that exist to match people with spare rooms with refugees from any country. They do not require a 6 month commitment and they also provide valuable information about what it is like to be a host.
SUPPORT LOCAL HOUSEHOLDS PROVIDING ACCOMMODATION
Would you like to help but are not able to provide accommodation? There will be households in the Henfield area that would be willing to host refugees but will need practical support to help them do this. If you can help with this, please get in touch and let us know about some of the practical ways in which you can help.
PRACTICAL SUPPORT FOR REFUGEES
The Horsham Refugee Support Group offer practical support for refugees when they arrive, including offering befriending services, orientation and support with learning English. If you would like to become directly involved with supporting refugees, please visit their page here.
GIVE MONEY LOCALLY
Our organisation (Henfield for Ukraine) is not a registered charity but we are aiming to raise a small number of funds to support local work. If you would like to donate, please get in touch on the "Contact" page.
The Horsham Refugee Support Group provide an excellent level of support to refugees settling in our area. Please consider donating to them here:
GIVE MONEY INTERNATIONALLY
Consider making a financial donation to a charity that is directly supporting refugees. Here are a few selected charities that are currently running Ukraine appeals:
